Young sakura leaves are blanched and then pickled to preserve their cherry flavor.
Flavor : Slightly salty subtil flavor with cherry notes that strengthen.
Use : In Japan, they are used to perfume the rice, wrap sakuramochis (rice cakes) or sushis.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place, away from light. When opened, use rapidly.
Preparation:
To easily remove most of the salt, soak the blossoms in a large bowl of water for up to one hour or more and let them dry on a clean towel afterwards.
